Top 10 lists are voted upon by the participants at the completion of each tour.

 

GRAND CANYON EXTENSION:
27-30 July 2001

  1) CALIFORNIA CONDOR*--impeccable views of 5 immatures at Lipan Point, Grand Canyon
  2) Lewis's Woodpecker--2 birds were somewhat of a surprise near Flagstaff
  3) Peregrine Falcon--great displays and chases over the Grand Canyon including one that hit a Turkey Vulture!
  4) Harris's Hawk--an 11th hour find as we headed toward the Tucson Airport
  5) Clark's Nutcracker--a nice showy species in the mountains near Flagstaff

Non-avian highlights included Elk, Pronghorn and Mule Deer, Mountain lion Tracks near the Grand Canyon, and a beautiful Short-horned lizard that was captured, photographed, and released.

* Though not countable by strict ABA rules, the Condors were the unanimous favorite of the entire tour group, including the leader.
