Mark (Pretti) was superb. The man has incredible skills and
knowledge, not to mention patience and personality, and both Virginia
and I came away from the trip totally satisfied. It also helped that
the group was only 8 people. I saw ninety percent of the birds that I
thought I had a chance to see, plus some others that I didn't expect.
Now we await the trip to Kenya.

Hi Bob,
WHAT A GREAT TRIP!
Thank you so much for making a special effort in organizing our trip to
California. The weather was great, spectacular scenery, and JASON was
outstanding in his knowledge of birds. He is the best birder I have ever
met. He seemed to have an instinct for finding the difficult birds, and
for knowing just the right time to be at a certain spot. I think the
only two birds we missed were the Black-backed woodpecker and the
Cassin's Vireo. We must have searched for five hours and walked two or
three miles looking for the woodpecker, so it wasn't a lack of
effort. The pelagic trips were also great: more than I expected and
Mary Ann felt great on the boats.
Thanks again and I hope your trip to Adak was equally as successful.

"I am very happy I went on the trip and that you were its leader. You combined casual with decisive, democratic with authoritative very nicely. And you were human, generous, and kind, not to mention that your birding skills are beyond belief! I had reasonable looks at 274 species and saw birds of colors I didn't know birds came in, and of course some interesting shapes, too. The country is beautiful and the people seem most happy with their ways of life, which is definitely as asset to the visitor as well.
